The DMMC:

Introduction:

Welcome to the Durandal Map Maker's Club, the club devoted to making maps for Marathon 2! We are a group of AOL Marathon 2 map making fanatics who have joined together to create an environment for sharing and organizing map files. Every week I (the President) distribute a map file of all of the maps that were made by members of the club during that week (when you are in the club, you send maps to everyone on the mailing list. I collect the maps and upload them). Our experts make films of each map, usually a walkthrough. As well as weekly archives, we produce a monthly single player scenario that contains a level by each member in the club (if you are a member, you are obligated to make the level you are assigned or choose). We also write a montlhy magazine devoted to making maps. It contains a lot of useful information on M2 map making as well as reviews of the maps we make. If you are a member of AOL, you are welcome to join the club. My apologies to people who want to join the club outside of AOL, the club is only for AOL members. This is because of weekly meetings (they are every Sunday at 8:30 to 9:30 PM EST, private room "DMMC") and message board discussions.

For more information, read my posts in the club's folder at keyword "bungie", in the folder Durandal Map Makers Club, in the message area.

You can get archives before they appear on AOL at users.aol.com/DanSkiMan via ftp. Look in the DMMC folder.

Notes:

1. If you're having trouble getting a film to play the right map, rename the map file "0DMMC Archive" (that's a zero). This is so the film will load up on the first map M2 finds and it will probably work right.

2. Films this week were made by CarnaMan.

3. If you haven't figured it out yet, the easiest way to load a map is to drag it onto the M2 icon. Don't go into prefs before you start a new game.
